I lived in Shanghai for a year two years ago and had a lovely time but it was definitely challenging in a lot of ways. The food as always special though. I haven ‘t been to Xi’an in 20 years since I was living in China. The list you assembled looks incredible. I don’t like lamb but I would definitely love to try the other selections!

In reply to Nande Kizza. Ah China is so hard for vegetarians, same here in Korea actually. It's just really not part of the culture. I think the noodles are your best bet and they often do mushroom and green veggie dumplings (bao) which are amazing. I used to live off them. But yeah, even the strangest things will have random bits of beef or something in ...

Thank you for this post, I enjoyed it despite being vegetarian. I’m guessing Liangpi Noodles are safe for me to eat? In other words, are they meatless lol?
